Okay so, as many of you know, Jameson took food as a joke at first. He would NOT open his mouth or he would turn his head away when we would try to feed him😅. He also got extremely fussy around that time so we decided to give him a little break before reintroducing food.
I probably gave him a good month break before we picked it back up again and things went way smoother this time around🙌. He was able to sit up better and actually opened his mouth lol. He is now 8 months and we are doing mostly puréed foods and starting a little baby led weaning. I do make all of his baby food and I’m not going to lie it can be tough when you have a 20 pound baby that has to be in your arms 24/7😅. However I do try and meal prep everything when J’s dad is home! Anywho here are all the things I could NOT live without when it comes to all things baby food🙆.
Mini Food Processor
We use the kitchen-aid mini food processor and omg you guys. This. Is. amazing. Honestly, it’s so small, it doesn’t take up like any space. And it’s so adorable I don’t mind leaving it on the counter all the time🤗. It’s also super easy to clean. I specifically only use this for baby food because, first time mom syndrome😂.
Glass Baby Food Storage Containers
Okay so, I’m in love with these Oxo glass baby food jars! They are ADORABLE. We decided to go with glass baby food jars because sometimes plastic can carry unwanted chemicals. These also come with little trays which make it so much easier to organize in our freezer!
Foaming Baby Dish Soap
Right now I am hand washing all J’s bottles and baby food jars/spoons. I’m sure when he starts eating more real food that will change but for right now it’s totally do-able! We are currently using Babyganics foaming dish and bottle soap. It just gives me such piece of mind knowing that there are no harsh ingredients❤️.
Foldable Highchair
This has been so perfect for us because we are currently living in an apartment. We have the Graco foldable highchair. It’s so easy to fold and put out of the way (I literally fold it up one-handed)! It’s also super easy to take apart and clean as well.
Burt’s Bees Bibs
We are definitely loving these organic Burt’s Bees bibs! They don’t have buttons or Velcro on the back so it’s super comfortable for J. They are really soft and not stiff like a couple other ones we’ve tried. Definitely our fave so far🙌!
These are just a couple of our current faves. However, my little baby isn’t so little anymore and as I start to transition J from puréed food to more solid/finger foods I know I’m going to need a different array of baby food products. If any of you have any recommendations for sippy cups/bottles/bowls/baby eating utensils or anything of that nature, I would love to hear about it!
This is so fab! Conor will be (hopefully) weaning onto food in the next few months so this was so helpful✨ xx

Great tips! As he gets older and starts eating more things that stain, I love Bumpkins bibs- you can buy them with the arms so the risk of staining clothes (and sleeves) is minimal. Until they stop working and then you just strip them down when they feed themselves anything that stains 😜👍🏻 Or dress them in an old tshirt or something you don’t care about 🙂

I’ve got a bowl that has a suction cup on the bottom to stick to the highchair tray. Great for when he decides to throw it on the floor!

Omg I NEED that! J throws everything on the floor lately so I’m sure bowls will be no different lol. Thank you! ❤️

No worries 😊 Now I just need to figure out how to stop him from throwing the spoon on the floor when he’s eaten what’s on it! Haha!

You’re welcome. How’s the sleeping going?

It’s been better! We literally got 3 teeth the past 2 weeks and it was a little rocky but he’s been sleeping longer stretches since he broke them through! ❤️

Woo hoo on the teeth!

I am long past needing this info, but I wanted to jump over from Christy’s Spotlight to see what Mom’s currently find indispensable – time marches on, after all. When my own mother was raising her brood of 5 little stair-steps there weren’t even disposable diapers! This was fun.

The moment where my 6 month old grandson eyeballed someone else’s Burger in the park and I tentatively suggested to his mum that she might try hm on solids “Yes, Dad, but the Book says it is TOO EARLY”. That weekend she mixed up some banana and freshly squeezed orange, gave him a little spoon….. he daintily transferred the goop into his gob like a food critic and yielded my most treasured photograph. His mum had inadvertently trained him to feed himself by giving him breast milk ice lollies (which he eats like a Sultan). x

Great piece! I recommend these same items to the families I join! 💙 Since you already like Oxo, i’d go ahead and try their no spill cup. I love it bc it’s easy to transition into for both breast and bottle fed babies.

He might want to try feeding himself sooner than you’d think. These bowls have saved me many a mess, and they usually love chewing on the spoons (easier to persuade them to take it with food 😂)
